Teiaro Taikato (Ngāti Whakaue, Te Whānau a Tauwhao, Ngāti Kapumanawawhiti) is an emerging Māori Theatre Practitioner, Producer and Production Manager. Previously a full-time youth worker, they entered the arts sector through the back door, a one-off opportunity as a director, now a full-time creative. Their passion is in community and weaving Tangata Māori and toi Māori to improve health, wellbeing and leadership. They work hybridly as an educator and an artist. Their most recent productions include ‘The Haka Party Incident’ by Katie Wolfe, ‘Mahuika’ by Amber Curreen, ‘Autaia’ and ‘Taurite’ by Hawaiki Tū and supporting PANNZ Tourmakers in production management with their national tour.
